Job Description

The County Government of Kericho is seeking to recruit a highly organized, dependable, and service-oriented Administrative Officer to support efficient office administration while contributing to community development initiatives across the county. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate office accommodation to ensure efficient utilization of available workspace.
  • Organize office layouts that promote productivity, safety, accessibility, and effective workflow.
  • Coordinate official transport arrangements for staff, visitors, and authorized government assignments.
  • Facilitate travel logistics, including transport scheduling and administrative travel support.
  • Maintain accurate records of office furniture, fixtures, and equipment inventories.
  • Conduct regular verification of office assets and recommend updates where necessary.
  • Monitor utilization of office resources and promote proper asset management practices.
  • Facilitate timely processing and payment of utility bills and approved operational expenses.
  • Support movement, transfer, and allocation of government assets between offices when required.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for office buildings and government facilities.
  • Report maintenance requirements promptly and follow up to ensure repairs are completed.
  • Ensure office furniture remains functional, safe, and suitable for daily operations.
  • Organize logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, and official events.
  • Prepare meeting venues and ensure necessary materials and equipment are available.
  • Coordinate administrative support services during departmental functions and public forums.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree in public administration, Business Administration, Business Management, Community Development, Social Sciences, or another closely related discipline obtained from a recognized institution. Candidates must also hold a valid Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized training institution. Demonstrated proficiency in common office software, electronic record management systems, document preparation, spreadsheets, presentations, and digital communication tools will be an added advantage.
