Responsibilities for Paediatric Oncologist REF No: V/EMP/2/2026 in Kenya

- Provide peri-treatment and supportive care, including pain management, nutritional support, and psychosocial care for patients and families.
- Counsel patients and caregivers on diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and long-term survivorship care plans.
- Obtain informed consent for treatments and procedures in line with ethical and legal standards.
- Facilitate referrals for advanced therapies, clinical trials, or specialized care where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records in compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and implementation of evidence-based oncology practices.
- Contribute to cancer registries, data collection systems, and reporting mechanisms for paediatric oncology cases.
- Engage in clinical research and support ongoing trials to improve paediatric cancer care outcomes.
