• Key responsibilities include safely driving assigned vehicles to transport staff, authorized personnel, students, and goods to designated destinations in a timely and efficient manner. The Driver I must ensure strict adherence to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and institutional transport policies, maintaining a high standard of discipline and caution while on the road. This includes observing speed limits, following defensive driving practices, and ensuring passenger safety at all times.
• The role requires conducting routine vehicle inspections before, during, and after trips. This includes checking critical components such as oil and coolant levels, tire pressure and condition, braking systems, lights, indicators, and fuel levels. The Driver I is expected to identify and report any abnormalities or mechanical issues promptly to prevent breakdowns and ensure continuous safe operation of the vehicle.
• In addition, the Driver I will perform minor mechanical repairs where necessary and coordinate major repairs and scheduled servicing with authorized service providers. Ensuring that the vehicle is regularly serviced according to recommended schedules is essential to maintaining its performance, reliability, and longevity.
