Responsibilities for Business Development Officer II-Grade 8 in Kenya
- The duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Officer II will include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks within the Kenya National Highways Authority:

This includes assisting senior officers in identifying opportunities to diversify revenue streams and improve financial sustainability.
- Maintaining records of revenue-generating assets: The officer will support the maintenance of accurate and updated records of the Authority’s revenue-generating assets. This includes documenting assets, monitoring their utilization, and assisting in identifying opportunities for improved asset management and revenue optimization.
- Assisting in development of business plans and strategies: The role includes supporting the preparation of business development strategies, financial sustainability frameworks, and resource mobilization plans aimed at strengthening the Authority’s operational capacity.
- Supporting contract negotiations: The officer will assist senior officers in preparing documentation and background information required during negotiations related to contracts and agreements for alternative revenue sources and partnerships.
- Coordinating resource mobilization initiatives: The officer will assist in coordinating the development and implementation of both local and international resource mobilization strategies, ensuring alignment with the Authority’s overall objectives.
- Identifying funding and partnership opportunities: The officer will support the identification and engagement of potential investors, funding partners, development agencies, and strategic collaborators that can contribute to the Authority’s development initiatives.
- Coordinating income generation initiatives: The officer will assist in organizing fundraising initiatives and other income-generating activities designed to enhance the Authority’s financial sustainability.
