Responsibilities for Loss Control Officer in Kenya
- The Loss Control Officer will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective security measures to protect company assets, employees, and customers while minimizing losses within the organization. This includes verifying visitor credentials, maintaining visitor logs, and ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed entry into restricted areas. The officer will strictly enforce all company security policies and procedures to ensure full compliance and safeguard organizational assets.

The officer will reconcile gate passes with supporting documentation to ensure that all dispatched goods are legitimate and accounted for. Similarly, the officer will verify returned goods to ensure that they match the accompanying documentation and meet company standards.
- The Loss Control Officer will also monitor all entry and exit points to prevent unauthorized removal of company property. This includes conducting thorough checks of bags, packages, and vehicles in line with company policies. By maintaining a strong presence at these points, the officer helps deter theft and reinforces accountability among staff and visitors.
- Furthermore, the role requires identifying suspicious behavior among employees or customers and taking appropriate action, including reporting incidents and assisting in investigations related to theft, fraud, or other loss-related issues. The officer will work closely with management and security teams to gather evidence, review CCTV footage, and document findings.
- Participation in stock control processes and inventory audits is also essential, as the officer contributes to reducing shrinkage and improving inventory accuracy.
