  • Under the Internal Control Framework, the role supports the design, enhancement, and periodic review of the Bank’s Internal Control Framework to ensure alignment with regulatory guidelines, internal policies, and the institution’s defined risk appetite. This includes ensuring that control standards are appropriately embedded within critical business processes, products, and outsourced arrangements. The Assistant Manager works closely with business units to align operational workflows with compliance requirements and risk management expectations, ensuring that preventive and detective controls are integrated into day-to-day activities rather than treated as standalone requirements.
  • In Control Testing & Assurance, the Assistant Manager executes structured, risk-based control testing across branches, credit operations, treasury, digital banking, finance, and other operational functions. The role involves assessing the adequacy of control design and evaluating their operating effectiveness through sampling, walkthroughs, and documentation review. Testing results, supporting evidence, and working papers are documented in a clear and auditable manner to meet internal audit and regulatory standards. Additionally, the role includes reviewing financial, operational, and customer service records to verify data accuracy, integrity, compliance with service standards, and adherence to established procedures.
  • Within Issue & Remediation Management, the Assistant Manager tracks identified internal control weaknesses, compliance breaches, and operational incidents. The role coordinates with business owners to develop corrective action plans, monitors implementation progress, and ensures timely closure of outstanding issues. High-risk, overdue, or recurring control failures are escalated to Senior Management and Risk/Compliance teams for immediate attention. The role also monitors the resolution of audit and regulatory inspection findings to prevent repeat occurrences.
  • For Policy & Procedure Oversight, the Assistant Manager supports periodic reviews of policies and procedures to ensure regulatory alignment and verifies that approved policies are translated into operational procedures and process manuals. The role further supports automation initiatives by embedding appropriate control mechanisms within digital workflows.
  • Through Stakeholder Coordination, Training & Reporting, the Assistant Manager liaises with Internal Audit, Compliance, Risk Management, and business units to drive continuous improvement. The role conducts awareness sessions, prepares internal control dashboards for Management and Board Risk Committees, and provides trend analysis on control effectiveness and emerging risks, thereby reinforcing a strong compliance culture across the Bank.
