Responsibilities for Head of Corporate Banking in Kenya
- The Head of Corporate Banking will be responsible for providing strategic, operational, and client-focused leadership across the corporate banking division. - Oversee corporate balance sheet growth, including assets, liabilities, and off-balance sheet exposures, ensuring optimal portfolio performance.
- Drive the adoption and cross-selling of banking products and services among corporate clients to maximize revenue generation.
- Lead trade finance initiatives and regional business expansion, focusing on importers/exporters and leveraging synergies with BOA Group entities across the region.
- Ensure corporate credit portfolio quality remains within approved risk thresholds and aligns with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor key profitability and productivity metrics for the corporate portfolio, implementing measures to meet or exceed performance targets.
- Client Engagement and Market Development:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key local and international corporate clients, direct foreign investors, and correspondent banks.
- Facilitate business development opportunities through networking, lead generation, and market intelligence to expand the corporate client base.
- Ensure timely syndication of facilities both domestically and internationally while coordinating with internal stakeholders for smooth execution.
- Collaborate with Treasury, Business Banking, Risk, and other internal departments to deliver holistic and client-centric solutions.
- Operational and Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the corporate banking team, promoting a high-performance culture and ensuring succession planning.
- Oversee the performance of business centers under corporate banking, ensuring operational efficiency and compliance with bank policies.
- Implement risk management frameworks and internal controls to safeguard the portfolio and maintain consistent quality of service.
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to provide timely advice and strategic guidance to senior management.
