From ideation and design to deployment and post-implementation review, the Assistant Manager works closely with IT, Cybersecurity, Digital Banking, Legal, Data Protection, Operations, and Product Development teams to ensure that risk considerations are proactively integrated into system architecture and process workflows. This includes reviewing technical documentation, assessing system configurations, evaluating access controls, and identifying vulnerabilities that could expose the Bank to operational, cyber, fraud, reputational, or compliance risks. A key component of the role involves conducting structured digital risk assessments for new system deployments, upgrades, third-party integrations, and process changes prior to go-live. The Assistant Manager evaluates system architecture, data flows, access controls, and integration points to detect vulnerabilities, control weaknesses, and potential exposure to cyber, fraud, operational, and data protection risks.
  • In Risk Controls & Mitigation, the role focuses on evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of existing controls designed to manage digital risks. This includes reviewing preventive and detective controls related to cybersecurity, fraud management, data privacy, transaction monitoring, and system resilience. The Assistant Manager collaborates closely with Legal, IT, Cybersecurity, IT Risk, Data Protection, Operations, Projects, and Digital Financial Services teams to enhance control frameworks both pre- and post-implementation. The role supports the update of Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA), conducts sample control testing, and recommends practical mitigation strategies to close identified gaps while ensuring timely implementation of corrective actions.
  • Under Digital KRIs & Monitoring, the Assistant Manager develops and tracks Key Risk Indicators such as system availability, transaction failure rates, fraud attempts, authentication failures, and API disruptions. Continuous monitoring enables early detection of adverse trends, and threshold breaches are promptly escalated to management. The role ensures sustained surveillance of digital risk exposure in alignment with the Bank’s risk appetite.
  • For Incident & Issue Management, the Assistant Manager supports investigations into digital risk incidents, near misses, and system disruptions, ensuring proper root cause analysis and documentation. The role tracks remediation actions arising from risk events, internal audits, and regulatory inspections to ensure timely closure.
  • In Governance & Reporting, the role prepares digital risk dashboards for management and board committees, contributes to ICAAP and operational risk assessments, and ensures regulatory compliance. Through Risk Culture & Advisory, the Assistant Manager embeds risk awareness into digital product development and provides continuous advisory support, promoting a strong and proactive risk culture aligned with the Bank’s strategic objectives.
