Responsibilities for General Manager-Business Process Re-engineering and Automation in Kenya

• The General Manager-Business Process Re-engineering and Automation will be responsible for defining and owning the enterprise transformation roadmap across both banking and insurance operations, ensuring that all initiatives align with the organization’s strategic objectives, regulatory obligations, and long-term growth ambitions. This includes identifying transformation priorities, sequencing initiatives, and ensuring measurable business value is delivered across business units.
• The role will drive large-scale operating model changes that span processes, systems, technology platforms, governance structures, and people capabilities. This requires a holistic understanding of shared services enablement, automation frameworks, and digital operating models that enhance efficiency, customer experience, and risk management.
• A key responsibility will be establishing and governing the enterprise innovation portfolio, ensuring high-impact initiatives are properly evaluated, prioritized, funded, and monitored. The General Manager will evaluate and implement emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Generative AI (GenAI), advanced analytics, workflow automation, and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), ensuring that technology adoption is business-driven and compliant with regulatory standards.
• The role will also involve developing and institutionalizing AI strategy, governance principles, ethical frameworks, and regulatory guardrails to ensure explainability, fairness, transparency, and compliance. Automation initiatives must be scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise risk and cybersecurity standards.
• The incumbent will oversee end-to-end automation delivery, from opportunity identification and business case development to solution design, implementation, testing, and production rollout. Prioritization of initiatives will be based on measurable business impact, operational efficiency gains, risk exposure, and return on investment.
• Additionally, the role requires embedding automation solutions into business-as-usual operations with clear ownership, support models, and continuous improvement mechanisms.
