Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain, and continuously monitor desktop computers, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, networking devices, and peripheral equipment across the organization.
- Provide timely first-line and second-line technical support to employees by diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, connectivity, and application-related issues.
- Administer local area networks (LAN), wireless networks, internet connectivity, switches, routers, firewalls, and VPN services to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
- Monitor network performance using appropriate diagnostic tools and proactively resolve potential issues before they affect business productivity.
- Perform scheduled maintenance of servers, operating systems, antivirus software, databases, and enterprise applications.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, access permissions, and authentication systems while maintaining high standards of information security.
- Install software updates, firmware upgrades, operating system patches, and security fixes according to organizational IT policies.
- Maintain accurate inventories of ICT assets including computers, networking equipment, software licenses, accessories, and replacement components.
- Coordinate routine backup procedures and verify successful restoration of business-critical information to safeguard organizational data.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives by monitoring potential threats, enforcing endpoint protection, and educating employees on safe technology practices.
- Troubleshoot email systems, communication platforms, cloud-based applications, and collaboration tools to ensure seamless communication.
- Prepare technical documentation covering system configurations, troubleshooting procedures, maintenance records, and infrastructure changes.
- Assist with implementation of new technology projects including hardware deployment, software migration, network expansion, and system integration.
- Work closely with logistics, warehouse, finance, operations, and administration departments to understand evolving technology requirements.
- Monitor server performance, storage capacity, processor utilization, and system availability while recommending improvements where necessary.
- Coordinate with external ICT vendors and service providers regarding equipment servicing, maintenance contracts, and technical support requirements.
- Maintain CCTV systems, access control technologies, biometric attendance systems, and other operational security solutions where applicable.
- Support business continuity initiatives by participating in disaster recovery planning and testing procedures.
- Ensure compliance with internal ICT standards, security policies, licensing requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Investigate recurring technical issues and recommend permanent corrective actions to improve overall system reliability.
- Configure shared network resources, printers, storage devices, and departmental workstations according to operational needs.
- Provide orientation and technical guidance to newly hired employees regarding organizational ICT systems and acceptable technology usage.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend practical innovations that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and cybersecurity.
- Generate periodic ICT performance reports highlighting completed activities, outstanding issues, infrastructure status, and recommended improvements.
- Perform any additional ICT-related duties assigned by management in support of organizational objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or another closely related discipline from a recognized institution. Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Microsoft Certified credentials, VMware certifications, ITIL Foundation, or equivalent industry
- recognized qualifications will provide a competitive advantage. Candidates should demonstrate practical knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, network administration, hardware diagnostics, system security, server management, cloud technologies, virtualization, backup solutions, and enterprise productivity applications. Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking, wireless technologies, firewalls, VPN configuration, Active Directory, endpoint security, and disaster recovery practices is highly desirable. Applicants should possess excellent troubleshooting capabilities, analytical thinking, attention to detail, effective documentation skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to prioritize competing assignments. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, customer service, and teamwork skills are essential.
