Job Description

World Vision International is seeking an experienced and innovative IT Event Management Engineer to join its global technology operations team. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and continuously enhance enterprise event management solutions supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises technology environments.
  • Configure event collection processes from infrastructure, cloud services, applications, databases, networks, and business-critical platforms.
  • Develop intelligent event correlation rules that consolidate related alerts and eliminate duplicate notifications.
  • Optimize monitoring thresholds to improve alert quality while significantly reducing unnecessary operational noise.
  • Build automated workflows that respond to common operational events without requiring manual intervention.
  • Create scripts using appropriate automation technologies to streamline repetitive monitoring and remediation activities.
  • Integrate monitoring platforms with IT service management systems for automated incident creation and assignment.
  • Support predictive monitoring initiatives using analytics and operational data to identify potential service disruptions.
  • Develop standardized monitoring templates that ensure consistent deployment across multiple technology environments.
  • Produce comprehensive technical documentation covering monitoring configurations, operational procedures, integration standards, and governance requirements.
  • Maintain detailed runbooks, knowledge articles, escalation procedures, and troubleshooting guides for operational teams.
  • Perform regular health assessments of enterprise monitoring platforms to maintain optimal performance and reliability.
  • Analyze operational metrics to identify recurring issues, service bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, cloud, cybersecurity, database, and application support teams to improve monitoring coverage.
  • Participate in enterprise technology projects by ensuring monitoring requirements are incorporated during implementation.
  • Configure dashboards that provide meaningful operational visibility for technical teams and business stakeholders.
  • Develop reporting solutions that measure monitoring effectiveness, incident trends, system availability, and service performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing operational efficiency and reducing response times.
  • Assist with governance activities that ensure monitoring processes comply with organizational standards and IT service management practices.
  • Participate in change management activities by validating monitoring configurations before production deployment.
  • Review monitoring policies and recommend improvements based on operational experience and evolving business requirements.
  • Support global technology teams by providing technical expertise related to observability and event management practices.

  • Ensure monitoring solutions remain scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with long-term technology strategies.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve monitoring platform issues efficiently.
  • Maintain configuration accuracy through version-controlled documentation and structured change processes.
  • Monitor service performance indicators including availability, event response efficiency, incident detection speed, and operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to technology modernization initiatives that strengthen enterprise monitoring maturity across the organization.
  • Promote a culture of operational excellence, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous service improvement throughout the IT function.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or another closely related discipline from a recognized institution. Professional certification in ITIL Foundation is required, while advanced ITIL qualifications or certifications related to enterprise service management will provide an added advantage. Certifications in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), cloud infrastructure, observability platforms, automation technologies, or enterprise monitoring solutions are highly desirable.
