Key Responsibilities
- Safely transport company executives, employees, guests, clients, consultants, and visitors to authorized destinations while observing the highest standards of road safety and professional conduct.
- Provide reliable airport transfers, hotel transfers, and transportation between company facilities according to approved schedules and operational requirements.
- Deliver official correspondence, confidential documents, parcels, equipment, office supplies, and operational materials accurately and within agreed timelines.
- Perform comprehensive daily vehicle inspections covering brakes, tyres, engine oil, coolant, battery, lighting systems, mirrors, windscreen wipers, fluid levels, steering performance, and overall roadworthiness before commencing assignments.
- Maintain assigned vehicles in excellent interior and exterior condition through regular cleaning, sanitization, washing, and proper presentation at all times.
- Monitor fuel consumption carefully, ensure economical driving habits, and maintain accurate fuel records, mileage reports, and trip documentation.
- Keep complete and accurate vehicle logbooks, recording journey details, maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, fueling, and official travel information.
- Coordinate scheduled servicing, preventive maintenance, tyre replacement, inspections, insurance renewals, and mechanical repairs to maximize vehicle availability.
- Report accidents, traffic incidents, vehicle defects, unusual mechanical sounds, warning indicators, or operational concerns immediately through established reporting procedures.
- Follow all Kenyan traffic regulations, road safety legislation, company transport guidelines, and organizational driving policies without exception.
- Plan efficient travel routes by evaluating road conditions, traffic flow, weather patterns, and travel schedules to minimize delays and optimize fuel efficiency.
- Assist passengers with loading, arranging, securing, and unloading luggage, equipment, or personal belongings while ensuring careful handling.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service by greeting passengers respectfully, maintaining courteous communication, and responding professionally throughout every journey.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding executive travel, business meetings, guest movements, company discussions, and sensitive operational information.
- Ensure vehicle registration documents, insurance certificates, inspection records, and emergency equipment remain valid, complete, and readily available.
- Respond calmly during emergencies by prioritizing passenger safety, contacting relevant authorities, and providing appropriate first-response assistance where applicable.
- Observe defensive driving principles to minimize risks and protect passengers, pedestrians, company assets, and other road users.
- Support departmental logistics by assisting with transportation planning during conferences, corporate events, official functions, and special assignments.
- Ensure company vehicles are parked securely, protected from unnecessary damage, and safeguarded against theft or misuse.
- Cooperate effectively with supervisors and administrative personnel by communicating transport schedules, vehicle availability, and operational updates promptly.
- Complete additional transport-related responsibilities assigned by the Transport Officer or Administration Manager in support of business continuity and organizational efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Applicants should possess a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution. A valid Kenyan Driving License appropriate for the assigned vehicle category is mandatory together with a valid Certificate of Good Conduct. Candidates should have a minimum of three years of professional driving experience gained within hospitality, tourism, corporate, government, or related organizations where customer service, punctuality, and safe driving are essential. A Defensive Driving Certificate and First Aid certification will provide an added advantage. The successful candidate should demonstrate excellent knowledge of Kenyan traffic laws, road safety standards, vehicle inspection procedures, preventive maintenance practices, and responsible fuel management. Strong geographical knowledge of Kilifi County, Mombasa, Malindi, and surrounding regions is essential.
