Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive fraud risk assessments across banking products, customer channels, digital platforms, operational workflows, payment systems, and business processes.
- Identify existing and emerging fraud risks through continuous analysis of operational activities, transaction patterns, customer behavior, and control environments.
- Develop practical recommendations that strengthen fraud prevention measures while supporting efficient business operations.
- Review fraud control frameworks to confirm that preventive, detective, and corrective controls remain effective against changing fraud techniques.
- Monitor fraud trends, fraud loss data, key risk indicators, and control performance to identify areas requiring immediate attention.
- Evaluate fraud incidents to determine root causes and recommend sustainable corrective actions that minimize future exposure.
- Maintain accurate fraud risk registers and ensure identified risks are appropriately documented, monitored, and escalated.
- Produce detailed fraud risk reports, dashboards, performance metrics, and management information for senior leadership and governance committees.
- Analyze fraud intelligence from internal investigations, industry publications, regulatory guidance, and external sources to strengthen organizational preparedness.
- Support implementation of fraud risk management strategies aligned with business objectives, regulatory expectations, and enterprise risk frameworks.
- Participate in new product reviews, technology projects, digital transformation initiatives, and system enhancements by providing fraud risk guidance during planning and implementation.
- Review fraud detection rules, monitoring parameters, alerts, and reporting thresholds to improve detection accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Track implementation of agreed fraud mitigation actions and verify that corrective measures are completed within approved timelines.
- Collaborate with technology teams to improve fraud monitoring capabilities, automation, analytics, and reporting solutions.
- Work closely with compliance, legal, operations, audit, cybersecurity, and financial crime teams to strengthen enterprise-wide fraud governance.
- Provide specialist fraud risk advice to business leaders during strategic planning, operational reviews, and business change initiatives.
- Support regulatory inspections, internal audits, external assurance reviews, and risk assessments by preparing accurate documentation and evidence.
- Promote fraud awareness through employee education programs, guidance materials, workshops, and internal communication initiatives.
- Encourage a strong culture of ethical conduct, accountability, transparency, and timely fraud reporting throughout the organization.
- Monitor compliance with internal fraud policies, governance standards, and applicable financial sector regulations.
- Evaluate fraud-related control weaknesses arising from audits or investigations and coordinate timely remediation activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance fraud governance, operational resilience, and customer protection.
- Build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen collaboration on fraud prevention initiatives.
- Support management by providing meaningful analysis, strategic recommendations, and risk insights that support informed business decisions.
- Perform additional fraud risk management responsibilities assigned by leadership while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in risk management, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Law, Criminology, Information Technology, Security Studies, Economics, or another relevant discipline from a recognized institution. A Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) qualification or equivalent professional certification in fraud risk management, financial crime, compliance, forensic investigation, or enterprise risk management will be highly advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of fraud governance, operational risk principles, banking regulations, internal control frameworks, fraud detection methodologies, and financial crime prevention practices within the banking sector. Strong analytical thinking, investigative capability, critical reasoning, and sound decision
- making skills are essential for success in this position. Applicants should possess excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the capacity to present technical fraud findings clearly to both operational and executive audiences. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting tools, data analysis platforms, fraud monitoring applications, and risk management systems will be an added advantage.
