Key Responsibilities
- Clean, sanitize, and prepare assigned guest rooms according to established institutional housekeeping standards.
- Make beds neatly using approved linen presentation procedures.
- Replace used towels, bed linen, toiletries, drinking water, and other guest amenities.
- Dust furniture, windows, doors, fixtures, fittings, and decorative items thoroughly.
- Vacuum carpets, sweep floors, mop hard surfaces, and maintain spotless interiors.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, washrooms, sinks, mirrors, toilets, bathtubs, and showers.
- Ensure accommodation units remain fresh, organized, and welcoming throughout occupancy.
- Conduct daily inspections to verify cleanliness and room readiness.
- Report damaged furniture, faulty electrical fittings, plumbing leaks, and maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate housekeeping records as instructed by supervisors.
- Support effective inventory management of linen, guest supplies, and cleaning materials.
- Store cleaning chemicals safely while observing manufacturer instructions.
- Operate housekeeping equipment responsibly and ensure routine care after use.
- Observe occupational health and workplace safety regulations during cleaning activities.
- Follow infection prevention and sanitation procedures consistently.
- Respond professionally to guest requests and provide courteous assistance whenever required.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding guest information and institutional activities.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to facilitate timely repairs.
- Assist in preparing accommodation facilities before conferences, seminars, and official events.
- Ensure corridors, staircases, lounges, and public areas remain clean throughout the day.
- Remove waste responsibly and support environmentally sustainable waste disposal practices.
- Identify opportunities for improving housekeeping efficiency and service quality.
- Handle lost and found property according to institutional procedures.
- Participate in scheduled departmental meetings and staff briefings.
- Assist with periodic deep-cleaning programs and seasonal maintenance schedules.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages before supplies are exhausted.
- Ensure guest amenities are arranged neatly and attractively.
- Practice efficient use of water, electricity, and cleaning resources.
- Comply with institutional policies, housekeeping manuals, and operational guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives.
- Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, honesty, accountability, and respect in daily duties.
- Adapt to changing operational requirements and assigned work schedules.
- Maintain high personal hygiene and wear the prescribed uniform correctly.
- Assist new staff through teamwork and knowledge sharing where appropriate.
- Support emergency preparedness activities within accommodation facilities.
- Perform any other housekeeping-related duties assigned by authorized supervisors within the scope of the position.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate in Housekeeping & Laundry or a related qualification from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Excellent knowledge of housekeeping procedures and hospitality standards.
- Strong understanding of hygiene, sanitation, and infection prevention practices.
- Ability to clean and maintain guest rooms to high
- quality standards.
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
