Key Responsibilities
- Deliver professional food and beverage services during breakfast, lunch, dinner, conferences, seminars, workshops, and official events.
- Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression through courteous and professional customer service.
- Prepare dining areas before service by arranging tables, chairs, linen, utensils, crockery, glassware, and decorative items according to organizational standards.
- Ensure food and beverages are served accurately, promptly, and in accordance with approved service procedures.
- Explain menu options, beverages, and special meals whenever requested by guests.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, grooming, and professional appearance throughout every shift.
- Monitor guest satisfaction during meal service and respond promptly to requests or concerns.
- Coordinate effectively with chefs, cooks, supervisors, and fellow service staff to achieve efficient operations.
- Observe food safety regulations, HACCP guidelines, and institutional health standards at all times.
- Handle food and beverages carefully to prevent contamination, wastage, or spoilage.
- Ensure dining halls, conference facilities, and banquet rooms remain clean, organized, and presentable throughout service.
- Support banquet preparations for official government ceremonies, conferences, receptions, and institutional events.
- Replenish serving stations with necessary supplies before and during service.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory items issued during assigned shifts whenever required.
- Report damaged equipment, shortages, maintenance concerns, or safety risks to supervisors without delay.
- Follow established cash handling procedures where applicable.
- Assist in setting up buffet displays while maintaining attractive food presentation.
- Practice proper sanitation procedures during cleaning and storage of service equipment.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate complex issues appropriately.
- Promote teamwork by supporting colleagues during busy operational periods.
- Ensure compliance with organizational service standards and hospitality policies.
- Participate in departmental meetings, staff briefings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Protect institutional property through careful handling of hospitality equipment and supplies.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while serving government officials and visiting dignitaries.
- Support emergency response procedures whenever required.
- Observe occupational health and workplace safety regulations.
- Participate in periodic stock counts and inventory verification exercises.
- Contribute ideas for improving customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate attendance and punctuality records.
- Perform additional hospitality-related duties assigned by supervisors in support of departmental objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate in Food and Beverage Service & Sales, Banqueting and Events, or a closely related qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid Food Handlers Medical Certificate.
- Certificate in Food Safety or HACCP from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional etiquette and grooming standards.
- Knowledge of banquet and conference service operations.
- Understanding of food hygiene and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining service quality.
