Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate management accounting activities to support organizational financial performance and informed decision-making.
- Lead the preparation, review, and presentation of accurate financial statements and final accounts.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
- Supervise bank reconciliation processes to maintain financial accuracy and accountability.
- Monitor treasury operations to ensure efficient cash management and liquidity planning.
- Support preparation and implementation of departmental and corporate budgets.
- Review budget performance and recommend corrective measures where necessary.
- Interpret and implement financial regulations, accounting standards, and internal financial policies.
- Strengthen internal financial control systems to safeguard organizational assets.
- Coordinate responses to both internal and external audit observations.
- Monitor compliance with statutory tax obligations including VAT and other mandatory deductions.
- Prepare financial analysis reports to support executive management decisions.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Promote prudent utilization of financial resources across the organization.
- Provide technical guidance to finance staff on accounting procedures and treasury operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within treasury and financial management functions.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, regulators, and other financial stakeholders when required.
- Identify financial risks and recommend practical mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory and corporate financial reports.
- Monitor adherence to approved budgets and expenditure controls.
- Participate in strategic financial planning and resource allocation initiatives.
- Develop recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and financial sustainability.
- Support implementation of financial management systems and process improvements.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information at all times.
- Prepare management reports highlighting financial trends and performance indicators.
- Foster collaboration across departments to improve financial planning and reporting.
- Mentor junior finance professionals and promote a high-performance work culture.
- Ensure all treasury and accounting activities comply with corporate governance requirements.
- Participate in policy review initiatives aimed at strengthening financial management practices.
- Perform any other treasury, accounting, or financial management duties assigned by management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Master's Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution.
- Bachelor's degree in commerce (Accounting or Finance option) or an equivalent qualification.
- Certified Public Accountant CPA (K) or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Membership in the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).
- Management course lasting at least four (4) cumulative weeks.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Compliance with Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.
