The organization is seeking a highly experienced finance executive to provide strategic leadership and oversight of financial management functions within a public utility environment. The role of General Manager – Finance is central to ensuring financial stability, accountability, and long-term sustainability of operations in a regulated service delivery organization.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies that support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and compliance with statutory requirements. This includes overseeing budgeting systems, financial planning frameworks, and internal control mechanisms designed to safeguard organizational resources and enhance transparency.
The position requires a leader capable of aligning financial operations with corporate objectives while ensuring strict adherence to public sector financial regulations and governance standards. The incumbent will play a key role in strengthening financial discipline, improving reporting accuracy, and ensuring timely delivery of financial statements to management, board committees, and regulatory authorities.
A key aspect of this role involves managing financial risk exposure through effective controls, monitoring systems, and policy enforcement. The General Manager – Finance will also support investment decision-making by evaluating financial feasibility of projects, capital investments, and operational expansion initiatives.
The role further involves leadership of the finance function, including supervision of accounting processes, treasury operations, debt management, payroll systems, and statutory compliance reporting. The incumbent will ensure that financial systems are efficient, well-integrated, and supported by modern enterprise resource planning tools.
In addition, the position contributes directly to corporate governance by supporting audit processes, coordinating with internal and external auditors, and ensuring implementation of audit recommendations. The role also involves continuous improvement of financial policies, procedures, and reporting structures to enhance accountability and operational efficiency.
This position requires close collaboration with senior management and the Board of Directors in setting financial performance targets, monitoring budget utilization, and evaluating organizational financial health. The role is critical in ensuring that financial resources are utilized responsibly and aligned with strategic priorities.
Key Responsibilities

Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor
- Master
- CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification
- Membership in ICPAK, ACCA, CFA, or recognized professional body in good standing
- Valid professional certification and compliance status
- Strong financial leadership and strategic management capability
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
