The position requires a strong understanding of Islamic finance structures such as Murabaha, Ijara, Musharaka, and other Sharia-compliant instruments. In addition, the Credit Analyst will collaborate closely with Relationship Managers, Department Heads, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless credit origination processes and effective portfolio monitoring. The role also includes active customer engagement, where the analyst may interact directly with clients to better understand their operational needs, financial position, and business risks. These interactions help improve credit quality and strengthen long-term client relationships. Responsibilities for Credit Analyst - Islamic Banking in Kenya
- Prepare, review, and structure comprehensive credit applications for Islamic banking customers in line with internal lending standards and Sharia compliance principles.

- Track loan repayment schedules and follow up on overdue accounts in coordination with relevant internal teams.
- Ensure strict adherence to KYC, AML, and regulatory compliance requirements for all new and existing clients.
- Assist in resolving customer queries promptly, ensuring high levels of service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Convert service recovery situations into business opportunities by identifying cross-selling and upselling potential.
- Gather and analyze competitive market intelligence to support strategic decision-making and product positioning.
- Continuously monitor market trends within Islamic banking and provide insights on emerging risks and opportunities.
- Maintain accurate credit records and ensure all approvals comply with internal delegation of authority structures.
- Support audit processes and ensure satisfactory audit ratings by maintaining high compliance standards.
- Proactively manage portfolio risk exposure through continuous monitoring and timely escalation of risk issues.
- Collaborate with collections teams on early alert accounts to ensure timely intervention and risk mitigation.
- Ensure all credit transactions comply with Islamic banking principles and Sharia governance standards.
- Participate in internal credit committees and provide analytical input where required.
