The TVET Trainer will play a critical role in delivering Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) programs at Diploma (Level 6) and Certificate (Level 5). Trainers are expected to integrate practical learning experiences, modern teaching methodologies, and continuous assessment practices to ensure effective learning outcomes. The successful candidates will be responsible for facilitating learning in their respective departments while ensuring adherence to curriculum requirements set by relevant regulatory bodies such as TVETA and CDACC. The trainers will also support curriculum implementation, assessment processes, and quality assurance standards in line with institutional and national guidelines. Responsibilities for TVET Trainers Business, Computer Science, Counselling in Kenya
- Deliver competency-based training in assigned course units in accordance with CBET curriculum and occupational standards.
- Prepare comprehensive lesson plans, session plans, schemes of work, and teaching materials aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Conduct both theoretical and practical training sessions to ensure effective knowledge and skills transfer.
- Utilize learner-centered teaching approaches to accommodate diverse learning needs and styles.
- Plan, supervise, and assess practical assignments, projects, and laboratory work where applicable.

- Participate in assessment validation, moderation, and standardization processes to ensure quality and consistency.
- Supervise trainees during industrial attachment and assess their performance in collaboration with industry supervisors.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records including attendance registers, assessment records, trainee portfolios, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with requirements of regulatory bodies such as TVETA, CDACC, and other relevant accreditation agencies.
- Implement quality assurance standards and contribute to continuous improvement of training programs and institutional performance.
- Develop training aids, instructional materials, and digital content to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Integrate modern teaching technologies, e-learning platforms, and innovative instructional methods to enhance learning outcomes.
- Conduct regular trainee evaluations and identify areas for academic improvement and skills development.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and counseling to trainees to support their academic, career, and personal development.
- Promote discipline, professionalism, ethical conduct, and a positive learning culture among trainees.
- Identify trainees with special learning needs and provide appropriate academic support or referrals.
- Participate in curriculum review, development, and continuous improvement initiatives in line with industry trends.
- Engage in departmental meetings, academic reviews, and institutional planning activities.
- Support student recruitment, retention, placement, and career guidance initiatives.
- Build linkages with industry partners to facilitate industrial attachments, internships, and employment opportunities.
- Ensure proper utilization, safety, and maintenance of training equipment, tools, and learning resources.
- Monitor and enforce health and safety standards within training environments, workshops, and laboratories.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning and program effectiveness.
- Participate in institutional events, workshops, seminars, and continuous professional development programs.
- Conduct research and stay updated on emerging trends in TVET education and industry practices.
- Prepare periodic training reports, performance reports, and departmental updates as required.

- Support implementation of institutional policies, procedures, and quality management systems.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Coordinator or Director.
