Responsibilities for Billing Officer in Kenya

• The Billing Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating all billing-related activities to ensure accurate financial records and efficient revenue collection within the hospital. • One of the primary responsibilities of the Billing Officer is to prepare accurate patient invoices for both outpatient and inpatient services, ensuring that charges are aligned with hospital tariffs and insurance agreements. The officer will process insurance claims promptly and ensure that all required documentation is attached before submission to reduce claim rejections and delays.
• The role involves verifying patient insurance coverage, benefits eligibility, and pre-authorization requirements before services are rendered. This helps ensure compliance with insurance policies and prevents billing disputes. The Billing Officer will also reconcile daily billing reports with records from departments such as pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and theatre to ensure complete and accurate revenue capture.
