Bank of Africa Kenya is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cyber Security Analyst to join its Enterprise Risk Department. The successful candidate will support the bank’s information security and governance initiatives by assisting in cyber risk management, compliance monitoring, and security certification programs. Responsibilities for Cyber Security Analyst in Kenya
- The Cyber Security Analyst will support various information security, risk management, and compliance initiatives within the bank to help maintain a secure and resilient technology environment. This process helps ensure that identified risks are properly managed and mitigated to acceptable levels.
- The role also involves tracking system vulnerabilities, coordinating remediation activities with IT teams, and supporting vulnerability management processes to reduce potential security risks. Monitoring and logging security incidents is another key responsibility, ensuring incidents are properly recorded, analyzed, and escalated according to internal procedures and security policies. The analyst will also assist in identifying patterns or trends that could indicate potential threats to the organization’s systems.
- The analyst will support ISO 27001:2022 ISMS implementation by assisting in drafting, reviewing, and maintaining security policies, procedures, risk assessments, and other documentation required for compliance. They will also help conduct internal ISMS reviews and gap assessments, collect compliance evidence, and track corrective and preventive actions following internal and external audits.
- In addition, the role supports PCI DSS certification activities, including assisting in mapping cardholder data flows, maintaining network diagrams, and preparing documentation required for compliance reviews and audits. The analyst will participate in internal readiness assessments and support Qualified Security Assessor (QSA) engagements.
- Other responsibilities include supporting governance, risk, and compliance initiatives such as monitoring adherence to IT security policies, assisting with third-party risk assessments, and compiling information security reports for management. The role will also provide operational coordination support, including maintaining organized documentation repositories, tracking project deliverables and deadlines, and assisting with risk and security meetings by preparing meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
