The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) is a State Corporation established under the Kenya Roads Act, 2007, with the mandate to manage, develop, rehabilitate and maintain national trunk roads across the country. As part of its commitment to strengthening technical capacity within the Directorate of Highway Design & Survey, the Authority seeks to recruit two (2) qualified and competent professionals to fill the position of Land Surveyor, Grade 7. The Land Surveyor will be responsible for implementing land survey and mapping activities in support of infrastructure development projects undertaken by the Authority. The role is central to ensuring accurate boundary demarcation, cadastral surveys, and protection of the Authority’s land assets through proper titling, verification, and documentation processes. The officer will play a critical part in safeguarding road reserves from encroachment and ensuring that all survey works comply with established legal and professional standards. The successful candidate will support the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of national highways by providing precise geospatial data, survey controls, and mapping solutions. This includes conducting topographical, engineering, and cadastral surveys for road corridors, interchanges, bypasses, bridges, and related infrastructure. The officer will also participate in land acquisition processes by verifying property boundaries, preparing survey plans, and supporting compensation documentation in accordance with statutory requirements. This will involve setting out alignments, verifying benchmarks, and ensuring that survey control points meet the required accuracy standards for highway design and construction works.
  • The Land Surveyor will undertake small and medium area cadastral surveys, topographical surveys, sub-divisional schemes, site surveys, and general engineering surveys in accordance with approved specifications and survey regulations. The role will require conducting detailed ground investigations to determine land features, property boundaries, contours, and physical developments that may affect project implementation.
  • The officer will conduct preliminary quality control checks on cadastral and boundary surveys to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and technical standards.
