  • The TVET Trainer – Counseling Psychology will undertake the following duties and responsibilities in support of academic excellence and competency-based training standards at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology:
  • The Trainer will deliver competency-based training in Counseling Psychology in accordance with approved TVET curriculum standards and the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework.   • The successful candidate will prepare comprehensive lesson plans, schemes of work, instructional materials, assessment tools, and practical learning resources that facilitate effective knowledge transfer and skills development. The Trainer will conduct lectures, demonstrations, workshops, role-plays, simulations, case study discussions, and supervised practical sessions to enhance both theoretical understanding and applied counseling skills.
  • The role includes developing, administering, and marking continuous assessments, practical examinations, and final evaluations in a fair, transparent, and timely manner. The Trainer will provide constructive feedback to learners to support improvement and mastery of competencies. Additionally, the Trainer will guide students during industrial attachment or field placement and assess their performance in collaboration with workplace supervisors to ensure meaningful practical exposure.
  • The Trainer will provide academic advising and mentorship to students to support their academic progress, personal development, and professional readiness. This includes offering guidance on career pathways, ethical conduct, and workplace expectations.
