Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level ICT technical support to staff, trainers, learners, and institutional users.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktop computers, laptops, printers, scanners, and related peripherals.
- Monitor the performance, availability, and reliability of institutional ICT infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and connectivity issues within agreed service timelines.
- Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems and enterprise applications.
- Assist in administering local area networks, wireless networks, and internet connectivity.
- Maintain accurate records of ICT incidents, service requests, and completed technical assignments.
- Participate in preventive maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Support software deployment, updates, upgrades, and security patch implementation.
- Assist in maintaining antivirus protection and endpoint security solutions.
- Monitor ICT assets and maintain updated inventory registers.
- Participate in system backup procedures and restoration exercises.
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity implementation activities.
- Assist in maintaining servers and shared network resources.
- Configure user accounts, passwords, and access permissions according to organizational policies.
- Support email systems and collaboration platforms.
- Assist in maintaining institutional websites and digital communication platforms where required.
- Participate in ICT infrastructure expansion and technology upgrade projects.
- Prepare technical reports and system performance summaries.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and technical solutions for future reference.
- Train users on proper utilization of ICT resources and digital applications.
- Promote adherence to ICT security policies and acceptable use guidelines.
- Support procurement processes through technical specifications and equipment verification.
- Test newly installed ICT equipment before deployment.
- Coordinate with vendors during installation, maintenance, and warranty support.
- Monitor network devices and report abnormalities promptly.
- Assist in implementing cybersecurity awareness initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality of institutional information and digital assets.
- Recommend improvements that enhance efficiency, reliability, and user satisfaction.
- Perform any other ICT-related duties assigned in support of institutional objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Information Technology, or another relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant work experience serving as an Information Communication Technology Assistant III or in a comparable position.
- Demonstrated record of merit, competence, and strong work performance.
- Good understanding of computer hardware, software, operating systems, and networking technologies.
- Knowledge of ICT security principles and best practices.
- Experience supporting users within a professional working environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical problems accurately and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications and business software.
- Knowledge of system maintenance and preventive support procedures.
- Familiarity with ICT asset management practices.
