Equity Afya is hiring a Resident Medical Officer / Clinic Lead (2 Positions) in Elgeyo-marakwet. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical consultations, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for patients.
- Assess patients presenting with diverse medical conditions and develop appropriate management plans.
- Prescribe treatment in line with approved clinical guidelines and best medical practices.
- Respond promptly to emergency cases and provide lifesaving interventions where necessary.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical response and outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records and ensure proper clinical documentation.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of patient information at all times.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists or higher-level healthcare facilities when required.
- Supervise daily clinical activities to ensure quality and safe service delivery.
- Support implementation of clinical protocols, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in clinical audits, case reviews, and quality improvement activities.
- Oversee adherence to infection prevention and control standards within the facility.
- Contribute to staff supervision, guidance, and on-the-job clinical support.
- Assist in planning and coordination of clinic operations and patient services.
- Monitor resource utilization and support efficient management of medical supplies.
- Prepare clinical and operational reports for review and decision-making.
- Support implementation of Health Management Information Systems (HMIS).
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development programs.
- Promote patient safety, satisfaction, and quality healthcare delivery.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, and institutional policies.
- Assist in budget awareness and cost-effective use of clinical resources where applicable.
- Engage in health education and community outreach activities when required.
- Support emergency preparedness and response activities within the facility.
- Maintain professionalism and uphold medical ethics in all clinical interactions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of healthcare services and operational systems.

- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB or MBBS) from a recognized institution.
- Registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Valid and current medical practicing license.
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Certificate in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
