Job Description

KCB Bank Kenya Limited is looking for an experienced and motivated Relationship Manager – Trustee Services to join our Corporate Trustee Services team. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong expertise in capital markets, trustee services, compliance, risk management, and client relationship management. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate trustee clients, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and supporting the growth of the Bank’s trustee services business. The role requires a proactive individual who can build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities to expand service offerings and enhance customer satisfaction. Working closely with investment managers, regulators, issuers, legal advisors, scheme administrators, and internal stakeholders, the Relationship Manager will oversee trustee mandates, coordinate governance activities, conduct compliance reviews, and help ensure that all schemes under management operate within the relevant legal and regulatory framework. The position also involves monitoring and managing risks associated with trustee services, resolving compliance issues, preparing reports and presentations, coordinating trustee meetings and annual general meetings, and providing professional guidance to clients on trustee-related matters. The successful candidate will contribute to the implementation of the Bank’s trustee services strategy and support initiatives aimed at increasing market share, client retention, and business profitability. Responsibilities for Relationship Manager-Trustee Services in Nairobi

  • Develop and manage strategic relationships with corporate trustee service clients across diverse sectors and investment structures.
  • Grow the Bank’s trustee services portfolio by identifying new business opportunities and converting prospects into long-term clients.
  • Execute business development initiatives aimed at increasing revenue, profitability, and market penetration.
  • Achieve assigned financial, operational, and business growth targets within agreed timelines.
  • Serve as the primary contact person for trustee service clients and provide timely professional support.
  • Build strong partnerships with investment managers, issuers, scheme administrators, legal professionals, and regulators.
  • Conduct comprehensive compliance reviews for all schemes and trust structures under management.
  • Monitor compliance with Capital Markets Authority regulations and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Identify compliance gaps and coordinate corrective actions to ensure full resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance assessments, findings, recommendations, and resolutions.
  • Evaluate operational, financial, legal, and reputational risks associated with trustee mandates.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to protect client and institutional interests.
  • Monitor scheme performance and governance practices to ensure adherence to trustee obligations.
  • Coordinate quarterly trustee meetings and facilitate effective stakeholder participation.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, reports, resolutions, and governance documentation.
  • Organize annual general meetings and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Present trustee reports, compliance findings, and governance updates during client engagements.
  • Provide technical guidance on trustee services, investment structures, and regulatory expectations.
  • Support the implementation of the Bank’s corporate trustee services strategy.
  • Contribute to policy development and continuous improvement of trustee service processes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely escalation of significant compliance, governance, or risk-related matters.
  • Monitor regulatory developments affecting trustee services and recommend necessary actions.
