The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) is inviting applications for the position of Manager, Protocol (Manager 2) in the Executive Wing, Governor’s Office. This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced protocol and executive administration professional who can coordinate high-level official engagements with exceptional discretion, precision, and professionalism. The successful candidate will play a central role in supporting the Governor, Deputy Governors, and distinguished local and international guests by ensuring that official ceremonies, diplomatic engagements, executive travel, meetings, conferences, and state-level interactions are conducted according to established protocol standards and institutional expectations.
This position requires a highly organized and strategically minded individual capable of managing complex executive schedules, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and maintaining strong working relationships with government agencies, diplomatic missions, transport providers, hospitality partners, and security teams. The Protocol Manager will oversee the planning and execution of official functions, executive visits, international travel arrangements, ceremonial events, and high-profile meetings while ensuring that all protocol procedures are accurately implemented and consistently maintained.
The role is positioned within the Executive Wing and demands exceptional judgment, confidentiality, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is essential. The successful candidate will coordinate logistics for official delegations, facilitate executive travel documentation, supervise protocol arrangements for visiting dignitaries, manage ceremonial requirements, and support the overall effectiveness of executive operations. In addition, the role requires providing guidance on official etiquette, seating arrangements, invitation management, event coordination, and institutional representation during formal functions.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate protocol arrangements for the Governor, Deputy Governors, and senior executive leadership during official meetings, conferences, diplomatic engagements, and institutional events.
- Plan and manage comprehensive logistics for executive travel, official delegations, workshops, conferences, and high-level stakeholder engagements.
- Oversee protocol support for visiting dignitaries, government officials, development partners, international delegates, and other VIP guests.
- Liaise with government ministries, diplomatic missions, security agencies, airports, hotels, airlines, travel agencies, and other strategic partners to facilitate official engagements.
- Coordinate airport protocol services, executive reception arrangements, VIP lounge reservations, and overseas travel support for authorized executive officials.
- Facilitate visa applications, diplomatic notes, clearance letters, travel documentation, and other executive travel requirements in coordination with relevant authorities.
- Organize official dinners, luncheons, press briefings, ceremonial events, executive receptions, and institutional hospitality activities.
- Prepare and manage invitation lists, guest confirmations, seating plans, event schedules, and ceremonial protocols for official functions.
- Provide protocol guidance to internal departments and management teams regarding etiquette, precedence, official procedures, and institutional representation.
- Coordinate executive event calendars and ensure seamless execution of meetings, conferences, and strategic engagements.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to support integrated planning and efficient operational coordination.
- Work closely with security and transport divisions to ensure appropriate security coverage, executive mobility, and logistical support for official activities.
- Verify accommodation invoices, travel claims, hospitality expenses, and protocol-related financial documentation before payment processing.
- Administer travel imprest and logistical resources for executive support teams during official assignments and institutional functions.
- Identify and coordinate suitable official gifts, ceremonial materials, and hospitality requirements for distinguished guests.
- Monitor protocol standards across executive engagements and recommend improvements to enhance institutional presentation and service delivery.
- Supervise protocol assistants, event support personnel, and assigned coordination teams during official functions.
- Prepare protocol reports, event evaluations, executive briefing materials, and operational updates for senior management.
- Manage confidential information with absolute discretion and ensure compliance with institutional governance requirements.
- Resolve operational challenges during executive events and implement contingency measures to maintain service continuity.
- Support strategic planning initiatives within the Executive Wing and contribute to continuous improvement of executive coordination processes.
- Represent the institution professionally during interactions with senior government officials, diplomatic representatives, international organizations, and other external stakeholders.
- Perform additional executive protocol and administrative responsibilities assigned by authorized leadership in support of the Governor’s Office.
