Key Responsibilities
- Manage, administer, and continuously optimize the SACCO's ICT infrastructure to ensure maximum reliability, stability, and operational efficiency.
- Monitor server performance, storage utilization, and operating systems while implementing preventive maintenance schedules.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers supporting critical business applications.
- Administer the SACCO Core Banking or SACCO Management System to ensure uninterrupted service availability.
- Coordinate software upgrades, feature enhancements, security patches, and version updates with minimal operational disruption.
- Provide timely technical support to employees by diagnosing, resolving, and documenting hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Maintain local area networks, wide area networks, wireless infrastructure, switches, routers, firewalls, and internet connectivity.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity controls designed to protect organizational systems from internal and external threats.
- Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions, authentication mechanisms, and access rights according to approved ICT policies.
- Conduct routine system health assessments and recommend infrastructure improvements that enhance overall performance.
- Perform scheduled data backups, validate backup integrity, and maintain documented disaster recovery procedures.
- Support business continuity initiatives by ensuring ICT recovery plans remain updated and regularly tested.
- Monitor database availability, integrity, and performance while coordinating optimization activities where necessary.
- Support mobile banking, internet banking, digital payment channels, ATM connectivity, and agency banking technology platforms.
- Maintain comprehensive ICT asset inventories including hardware, software licenses, warranties, and equipment lifecycle records.
- Coordinate procurement recommendations for ICT equipment, software solutions, and technology services.
- Liaise with external technology vendors during installations, maintenance activities, and service-level reviews.
- Prepare accurate ICT operational reports highlighting performance indicators, incidents, security events, risks, and recommended improvements.
- Enforce ICT governance policies, information security procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Participate in ICT risk assessments and recommend practical mitigation measures.
- Conduct user awareness sessions covering cybersecurity, password management, phishing prevention, and responsible technology use.
- Assist departments in identifying technology solutions that streamline workflows and improve operational productivity.
- Document system configurations, technical procedures, and infrastructure changes for future reference.
- Monitor system logs to identify unusual activities and coordinate timely incident response.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
- Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational information assets.
- Participate in ICT project planning, implementation, testing, and post-deployment support.
- Resolve technology incidents within agreed service standards while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Maintain professional relationships with internal stakeholders while providing exceptional ICT support services.
- Perform additional ICT assignments and strategic technology initiatives delegated by the Chief Executive Officer.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or another closely related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Professional certifications in CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Technologies, CISA, CISM, CEH, VMware, Linux Administration, Azure, AWS, or equivalent certifications will provide a competitive advantage.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ICT governance, systems administration, enterprise networking, cybersecurity, and infrastructure management.
- Sound understanding of financial systems technology, database administration, and business continuity planning.
- Commitment to maintaining professional ethics, confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
