Key Responsibilities
- Identify and approach prospective customers through various business development initiatives, networking opportunities, referrals, community engagements, and direct prospecting activities.
- Build strong professional relationships with new and existing customers by providing exceptional customer service throughout every stage of the sales process.
- Introduce suitable insurance products based on each customer's financial objectives, personal circumstances, and risk protection requirements.
- Explain policy features, benefits, exclusions, premium structures, and coverage options in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
- Conduct customer needs assessments to recommend appropriate insurance solutions that match individual and business requirements.
- Generate qualified sales leads through field visits, digital communication, telephone engagement, and strategic follow-up activities.
- Maintain a consistent sales pipeline by scheduling appointments, conducting presentations, and following up on prospective opportunities.
- Achieve individual monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while contributing to overall departmental performance objectives.
- Prepare accurate insurance application documentation and verify that all required supporting information is complete before submission.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, insurance regulations, and applicable industry standards during every customer transaction.
- Resolve customer questions, concerns, and service requests promptly while maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach.
- Coordinate with underwriting, operations, customer service, and other internal departments to facilitate smooth policy processing.
- Monitor policy issuance progress and keep customers informed regarding application status and required documentation.
- Maintain accurate customer records using approved company systems and ensure information remains current and confidential.
- Participate in promotional campaigns, marketing activations, exhibitions, roadshows, and customer awareness initiatives organized by the business.
- Gather market intelligence regarding competitor offerings, customer preferences, and emerging industry trends to support business improvement.
- Prepare regular sales reports, customer activity summaries, pipeline updates, and performance reports for management review.
- Promote cross-selling and up-selling opportunities by introducing additional insurance products where appropriate.
- Build long-term customer loyalty through consistent communication, policy reviews, and proactive after-sales support.
- Demonstrate professionalism, honesty, and integrity in every customer interaction while protecting the reputation of the organization.
- Participate in internal training sessions to improve technical insurance knowledge, sales capability, and regulatory compliance awareness.
- Manage daily schedules effectively to maximize productivity and customer engagement opportunities.
- Support team initiatives by sharing knowledge, participating in collaborative projects, and contributing to continuous improvement activities.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information and company business data at all times.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Team Leader or management that support organizational objectives and business growth.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Diploma from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Insurance, Finance, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
- Valid Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance (COP) is mandatory.
- Progress toward AIIK, ACII, or another recognized insurance professional qualification will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated understanding of insurance principles and customer advisory practices.
- Strong commitment to ethical conduct and professional standards.
