• Assist in receiving food deliveries by inspecting quality, quantity, and compliance with procurement standards.
• Store food items appropriately and implement FIFO principles to reduce wastage and ensure freshness.
• Support inventory tracking by reporting shortages, damages, or expired items to the supervisor.
• Collaborate with nutritionists, dietitians, and nursing staff to ensure patient meals meet prescribed dietary plans.
• Label and organize patient meals correctly to avoid errors in dietary distribution.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, cookers, and food processors.
• Identify and report faulty equipment or safety hazards to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and food safety training programs within the hospital.
• Maintain discipline, cleanliness, and organization within the kitchen environment at all times.
• Assist in preparing special meals for patients with unique dietary needs such as diabetic, low-fat, or modified-texture diets.
• Ensure compliance with all hospital policies, health regulations, and food service standards.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during peak hours.
• Support additional kitchen duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or supervisor.
