<p><strong>About The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of The Ombudsman) </strong></p><p><br></p><ol><li>The Commission on Administrative Justice (CAJ) also known as the Office of the Ombudsman is a Constitutional Commission established under Article 59 (4) and Chapter Fifteen of the Constitution, and the Commission on Administrative Justice Act, 2011. The Commission has a mandate, inter-alia, to investigate any conduct in state affairs or any act or omission in public administration in any sphere of Government and complaints of abuse of power, unfair treatment, manifest injustice or unlawful, oppressive, unfair or unresponsive official conduct.</li></ol>
Legal Officer I (Advisory Unit)
The Legal Officer I (Advisory Unit) is responsible for providing legal advisory services to the organization to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. The role involves interpreting legislation, drafting and reviewing legal documents, advising management on legal risks, and supporting informed decision-making across departments.
The officer plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s legal interests and ensuring that operations are conducted within the legal and regulatory framework.
Job Description – MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting in drafting advisory opinions and legal briefs;
Assist in generating submissions/briefs of appeals registered in the Chairperson’s office
Processing own motion complaints
Assisting in generating papers/articles on topical issues
Assisting in protocol and administrative procedures for the chairperson
Assisting in preparation of speeches and presentation for the Chairperson
Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
BA/BSc/HND , Diploma
